ANGMERING GYMNASTICS TEAM GYM SUCCESSAngmering Gymnastics Club is once again celebrating victory as both the Primary and Junior teams were placed in medal positions at the Southern England Team Gym Regional Championships, held at Bracknell Leisure Centre.
Both teams had been training hard, trying to fit in homework or GCSE coursework around their gymnastics and also giving up 2 days in there half term to attend extra long training days. However it all paid off when the Primary Team, girls aged 8-12, came 2nd overall against 9 other strong teams. They missed out on gold by 0.2 marks. However, the Junior team, girls aged from 12-16, pulled out perfect routines to clench the title. They managed to keep their nerves under control and land all tumble and trampette skills and finish with the highest score of the day on floor.
Their coach Sam Wilcox said “Team work really was the key to the team’s success, they all tried their best and trusted one another to perform well and as a team, I am very pleased with how team gym is growing at Angmering and encourage more girls to try out a team sport, possibly Team Gymnastics” |
